“Under the vail” speaks about the old men generation that hide their true ideas under society’s definitions;
While feminism takes a seat at the table, masculinity is hanging in the air, with no certain rules anymore as to its role and character. Having a hard time deciding between what is believed to be set in stone to be a man and what one might feel on the inside, this painting represents that struggle, unconsciously not knowing who is running who. Are old traits still valuable today? What does it mean to be a man today, when women have equal rights and values? Are the genders diluting and is the tendency to forget about this adjective and simply be just humans?
