Oil on Linen
50 x 100 cm
Margaret D. H. Keane (born 1927) is an American artist. Creator of the “big-eyed waifs”, Keane is famous for drawing paintings with big eyes, and mainly paints women, children and animals in oil or mixed media.
Paul Jackson Pollock (1912 – 1956), known professionally as Jackson Pollock, was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was well known for his unique style of drip painting. The catalog introducing his first exhibition described Pollock’s talent as “…volcanic. It has fire. It is unpredictable. It is undisciplined. It spills out of itself in a mineral prodigality, not yet crystallized.
A new contrast for me, between Keane who is so attentive to details and Pollock who is just undisciplined. And yet, in all the chaos, big eyes are looking straight at you. Keane & Pollock is here for you…
