Frida & Vermeer

Girl with a Pearl Earring is an oil painting by 17th-century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.

Frida Kahlo de Rivera, was a Mexican painter, who mostly painted self-portraits, so in my mind remained the question, what would have happened if someone else painted her?

And Vermeer had a touch for catching that glimpse in the eye of a model, so again, I had to pick my brushes and just see where it would take me. And I believe it’s beautiful and unique. A tribute to both and a new challenge.
