Dali & Picasso

2017

Oil on Linen

60 x 80 cm

The Persistence of Memory is a 1931 painting by artist Salvador Dalí, and is one of his most recognizable works. Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon, and originally titled The Brothel of Avignon) is a large oil painting created in 1907 by the artist Pablo Picasso.

Can you imagine if the two would have ever met and worked on something together? They lived in the same ages and yet they had such different perceptions of the world. Different destinies and yet they both became famous artists. That dramatic difference made it irresistible for me. I just felt the urge of mixing this two amazing but completely different artists. They had different painting techniques, unique style and visions.

And yet, when I combined both of their most amazing and successful paintings it created a new vision towards them. And that never stops to make me wonder…
